AFL Gippsland is thrilled to announce that Hawthorn AFLW players will be visiting East Gippsland on Wednesday and Thursday this week for a community camp.
The two-day camp will see Hawthorn AFLW players engaging with local schools and Auskick centres, inspiring the next generation of footballers and promoting the growth of women’s football in the region.
On Wednesday, the Hawthorn AFLW players will be divided into seven groups, visiting the following schools: Lindenow South, Lucknow, Bruthen, Paynesville, Bairnsdale and Bairnsdale West Primary schools, as well as Orbost Community College.
Following the school visits, the players will head to local Auskick and Junior Football Clubs at Lindenow, Lucknow, Bruthen, Paynesville, Orbost and Bairnsdale.
Daniel Webster is currently the coach of the Hawthorn AFLW side, he was a midfield coach for the Brisbane Lions when they won the 2023 AFLW premiership.
