THUMBS UP: To the Book Nook’s schoolworks ANZAC Day display.
THUMBS UP: To all the organisations who have the basic common decency to put a good-sized street number on their shop-fronts. It’s so hard to navigate a new destination with one’s eyeballs while driving, when your self-centred neighbours arrogantly display only their marketing messages.
THUMBS UP: To all the organisations that check their AEDs every month, and always have a currently-trained staff on hand. Nothing is more soul destroying than a customer or co-worker dying, just because the batteries ran down, or the AED never went through the time-consuming one-off startup routine.
THUMBS UP: To Leanne from Lucke’s for helping me bring everything to the car after my surgery. I really appreciate everyone working there. Best service in town.
THUMBS UP: For tackling the recycling at the monthly market.
THUMBS UP: Thanks to the Metung community for assistance given to my husband who had a medical incident at the ANZAC Day service; also ambulance and Bairnsdale Hospital. Outcome positive.
THUMBS UP: To the group of shire works crew in cleaning the top end of Jemmy’s Point footpath.
THUMBS DOWN: To the ratbag driver who ran onto the nature strip and ripped the bumper bar off our our car, an unbelievable act of stupidity.
