A massive field of 170 participants were out and about early in Lakes Entrance Parkrun on Saturday morning, walking, jogging and running the picturesque, five kilometre course.
It was the 306th staging of the weekly event, Saturday attracting the second biggest field in the event’s history, surpassed only by first staging, which saw 254 people swarm the course.
With the weather perfect, the event saw 69 first timers, with 24 personal best times recorded, whilst representatives of 13 different clubs took part.
Andrew Thorpe was the first person across the line in a personal best time of 17 minutes and 33 seconds, whilst Kathryn Erskine led the woman home, also in a personal best of 20 minutes and 16 seconds.
Others to run personal best times included Jack Gill (18.49), Baxter Blade (19.07), Harrison Down (20.19), Nathan East (20.43), Alec Holt (21.13), Clancy Chester (21.32), Chris Taplin (22.36), Charlie Darcy (23.08), Oliver Ealdana (24.18), Ashton Linford (24.31), Tania Casey (25.48), Mehmet Huseyin (26.02), Ben Gibbs (27), Anthony Ladson (27.02), Stacey Rogers (27.14), Alannah Boyd (27.38), Rebecca McDonald (28.23), Anthony Varone (28.39), Anthony McDonald (28.51), Bec Voss (28.55), Felicity Gregory (30.36) and Lou Sanders (34.05).
Running groups represented in the event were Pakenham Road Runners, Sale and District Runners, Tuesday Track Club, Traralgon Harriers, East London Runners, TXR Runners, Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Runnez, Wonthaggi Road Runners, Australia Post Group, Lalor Running Club and the Adventurers.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun began on February 3, 2018 and has since had 3864 individual participants.
The run departs from the rotunda each Saturday morning at 8am. Briefing is at 7.50am.
