For 10 years Friends of the Library in Lakes Entrance (FoLLE) have been busy supporting and contributing to the wonderful library and staff.
Ten years ago, FoLLE was formed and now it would like to invite you, the Lakes Entrance community, to celebrate its 10th birthday on Wednesday, April 9, at 2.30pm.
“Let me tell you how we operate and what we do. We raise funds by recycling donated books, DVDs etc for just a dollar or so,” Rosanne Trevaskis said.
“Check out the packed sales table in the library foyer. All the money raised goes to adding the extra comforts and facilities in our library that you may have noticed.
“There are the new comfy lounge chairs, the refreshments trolley and the children’s colourful bean bags among other things – all donated by FoLLE.
“We advocate for all things library.”
Now FoLLE has an exciting new project – the courtyard reading garden. FoLLE has extended its fundraising efforts and its Christmas raffle raised $1400 to furnish and equip this outdoor area.
“We love to think that very soon, locals and visitors alike will enjoy a delightful garden as part of their library experience,” Rosanne said,
“Yes indeed, libraries change lives.”
