CWA East Gippsland Group (Bairnsdale-Amaroo, Orbost and Paynesville-Toonalook Branches) recently held a craft weekend at Coonawarra Farm Retreat, Glenaladale, over the last weekend of February.
This event has been happening for more than 30 years with members and non-members attending from all over Victoria.
Specialised classes are provided or you can take your own craft and work on it all weekend.
Or just head along and meet new friends and have a chat and chill.
Not sure which has the highest ratio – chatting or crafting?
“Ladies – we do not cook or do the dishes – all provided for,” Jennie Gieles said.
“Friday night, is a fun night with show and tell. Ladies bring along finished craft work that they have been working on all year or were working on at last year’s craft weekend.
“A trading table runs all weekend raising funds for CWA. These monies will go toward assisting women and children. This is run like an op shop. We bring pre-loved craft
treasure and someone else takes it home as new treasure after offering a donation.
“We were asked to bring along an item as a donation for A Better Life For Foster Kids, Sale. This was a huge success. Our ladies are ever so generous. We all had a great weekend meeting new and old friends and crafting.”
