On Wednesday, March 5, year eight students from Lakes Entrance Secondary College (LESC) took part in Clean Up Australia Day by helping to clear rubbish from Main Beach.
With gloves and rubbish bags in hand, the students spent time removing litter along the shoreline to help protect the environment and keep the beach clean for everyone to enjoy.
The event gave students the opportunity to contribute to the community while learning about the importance of looking after the environment.
Adam Stevens, who helped organise the activity, said, “It was great to see the students working together and making a real difference.”
LESC stated it is proud of the year eight students for their hard work and dedication to preserving our local environment. Their efforts show the importance of looking after our natural spaces and encourage all of us to keep our beaches clean.
