Orbost defeated Lakes Entrance in the annual croquet club challenge.
It had been a couple of years since the last get together and this year it was hosted by Orbost who organised a beautiful and well run day for everyone.
Lakes Entrance Croquet Club sent a team of 13 to compete in the doubles format, with players competing in three games within their handicap group.
The courts proved quite challenging for the Lakes players to use all their skills to manage the fast pristine courts.
Orbost players won 11.5 games to Lakes Entrance 6.5 games, winning the shield that was previously in the possession of Lakes.
Special mention must be made to May Beveridge from Lakes Entrance who has been representing the club since the inaugural Orbost/Lakes fun days back in 2011 and on the eve of her 100th birthday, she thoroughly enjoyed playing two games on the day.
The Orbost and Lakes Entrance Challenge Shield was introduced in 2019, giving the day a more competitive feel.
After play concluded all players were treated to a beautiful afternoon tea in the Orbost Bowls Club.
