Victorian Personal Watercrafts round one results in the Ski Class: Alex Youngs (second), Taylor Porter (first) and Travis Watt (third). (PS)

The Glenmaggie and District Boat Club hosted a thrilling day of jet ski racing last weekend, with the staging of the first round of the 2025 Victorian Personal Watercrafts series.

Difficult conditions, including persistent rain, made it difficult for both the competitors and the volunteers who helped stage a very successful race meeting.

The weekend began with a mandatory beginners training course, the newbies having the opportunity to learn the track by following the track coordinator during practice.

Sunday was raceday with conditions testing everyone resulting in a reduced race

program.

The event saw four classes raced, with the winners being Taylor Porter (ski class), Joel Carter (novice runabout one), Richard Stupka (novice stock runabout) and Nick Burns (expert runabout).

A healthy crowd was in attendance keen to check out a new sport that isn’t well publicised or common in the region.
