The Lakes Entrance Golf Club ladies hosted their very popular President and Captain’s Day last Wednesday with a field of 80 tackling the course.

The “A” grade event was won by Ros Toland and Marjie Milne from the South Pines Golf Club with a great stableford score of 42 points.

In the “B” grade section Angie Duddridge and Sherry Cunningham from the Metung Golf Club prevailed with 40 points, while the visitors award also went back to South Pines, Maureen Sampson and Elaine Johnson also coming in with 40 points.

In other golf last week, with rain having some impact on numbers, Faye Hammond was the winner of Tuesday’s Young and the Restless, while at Ruthless and Toothless, Peter Nicholas was successful in “A” grade and Terry Green in “B” grade.

In Thursday’s medley stableford event, 15 handicapper Zachary O’Rourke came out on top of a field of 75 to win “A” grade and the competition overall.

O’Rourke had 39 points with multi-talented Stan Short (37 points) taking “B” grade and Denis Compton (39) winning “C” grade.

John Coleman and Greg Hayes were sweepstakes winners.
